According to Punch, the civil servants are already making consultations on how to carry out the protest.

A civil servant in the state, who spoke to reporters on condition of anonymity, said Governor Gabriel Suswam had put them in “monumental stagnation.”

Although, the state government is yet to make an official statement on the President’s visit, it was gathered that Jonathan is expected to grace Suswam’s golden jubilee birthday celebration on Saturday as well as inaugurate a few projects.

In the capital city, Makurdi, roads are being fixed while stagnated water and dirts are being cleaned off the highways.

A resident of Makurdi who simply identified himself as Terver, said the capital city was now beginning to wear a new look.

He said, “We pray that President Jonathan should always propose visits to the state so that our environment will witness positive changes.”

The Secretary of the State’s NLC, Emmanuel Jumpa, however, said the union was not aware of the planned protest.
