Nigeria international and Villarreal forward Ikechukwu Uche has said he is happy to be recalled back into the Super Eagles after been left out of the squad since the country’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations triumph in South Africa.
Following his fallout with Coach Stephen Keshi, he wasn’t invited to play for the team, and missed the Confederations Cup and 2014 Fifa World Cup despite being Nigeria’s best striker in Europe last season.
Keshi has finally bowed to pressure and recalled him for the country’s remaining crucial AFCON qualifiers match against Congo and South Africa, and Uche is pleased with the recall.
Uche tweeted; Happy to be among those selected to play CONGO and S.A God bless Nigeria @NGSuperEagles #qualifiers #AFCON2015 -
Nigeria face Congo in Pointe Noire on 14 November before the final home fixture against South Africa on 19 November.
